Clinical Informatics
Advancing the focus of clinical system projects from implementation to clinician and physician adoption is key to their success.
Critical steps include setting and communicating the clinical strategy and future state vision, defining the approach to standardization across healthcare facilities, and establishing a common governance and decision-making structure and change management process.
Once these structures are established, it’s important to ensure clinician and operational department involvement in the project, take multi-disciplinary organizational workgroups through the design of the future state process model, and develop the evidence-based content. Our Clinical Informatics Center of Excellence focuses on sharing best practices around clinical informatics consulting, physician adoption, CPOE, and meeting the Meaningful Use criteria.
